Here’s a short overview on all our local surf spots you’ll become familiar with during your stay

Banana Point

Banana Point Morocco

Key Facts

Type of break Point break – right hand
Location Aourir (Banana Village) 1.5km from OSM
Ability Beginner/Intermediate

Offshore’s Local Notes:

When the swell is pumping, this break is a long, peeling right-hander with an open face, perfect for cruising on a longboard, or practicing maneuvers on your short board with plenty of wave time. A smaller swell allows this to work as a beach break, with consistent fun waves for beginners.

Spiders

Type of break Reef break
Location Inbetween Banana Point and Devil’s Rock – 1.5km from OSM
Ability Intermediate/Advanced

Offshore’s Local Notes:

Needs bigger swell to work, but when it does perfect barrels can be seen from Banana Point. A fast breaking wave, this calls for a more experienced surfer on a short board. Access is easy.

Anchor Point

Anchor point surfing Morocco

Type of break Point break
Location North of Taghazout – 9km from OSM
Ability Intermediate/Advanced

Offshore’s Local Notes:

Our all time favourite, this classic spot is titled a World Class Wave, famous for it’s endless barreling waves, steepy take off and long ride into Taghazout when the swell is bigger. Surf with pros from around the world here, who come during the winter months!

Mysteries

Type of break Reef break
Location Between Anchor Point and La Source – 10km from OSM
Ability Beginners through to intermediate/advanced

Offshore’s Local Notes:

Depending on the size and period of the swell, this spot turns from a fun beginner spot, to a hollow, fast breaking wave that packs a punch!

Killer Point

Type of break Point break
Location North of Taghazout – 12km from OSM
Ability Intermediate/Advanced

Offshore’s Local Notes:

A long paddle out is rewarded with long, peeling right hand waves you can ride.

Boilers

Type of break Reef break
Location 29km North of OSM
Ability Intermediate/Advanced

Offshore’s Local Notes:

This reef break works best with a mid tide when the swell gets above 1.5m. When it’s on, it provides you with a beautiful consistent and powerful right hander. Picks up more swell than the Taghazout area due to it’s exposed location and offshore winds.

Desert Point

Type of break Point break
Location 21km North of OSM
Ability Intermediate/Advanced

Offshore’s Local Notes:

Desert point is a beautiful and remote spot a little off the beaten track. A nice right hand point break with hollow, long peeling sections when the swell is pumping!

Imsouane

Type of break Point break
Location 67km North of OSM
Ability All levels (The Bay), Intermediate to Advanced (Cathedral)

Offshore’s Local Notes:

Imsouane is a small authentic fishing village where long, mellow waves break into the bay from the point – a long port jutting out to sea. It’s the longest right hand wave in Morocco which can be surfed for minutes across the 300m bay. Right around the corner is another fantastic spot – Cathedral point picks up more swell, suitable for intermediate/advanced surfers.

Tiffnitt

Type of break Point break / Reef break
Location 40km South of OSM
Ability Intermediate to Advanced

Offshore’s Local Notes:

A road trip South takes you to this small fishing village with a long right hander in the bay and both left and rights on the reef side just around the port.

Devil’s Rock

Type of break Beach break / Point break
Location  1.9 km from OSM
Ability  Beginner/Intermediate

Offshore’s Local Notes:

Devil’s rock is our local beach break. Nice long white water over sand for our beginners to practice and fun green waves with a mid-sized swell for our intermediates. And with the swell pumping, Devil’s rock also produces a nice right-hand point break for our guided sessions or intermediate coaching.

Crocodiles Beach

Type of break Beach break
Location  1.9 km from OSM
Ability  Beginner/Intermediate

Offshore’s Local Notes:

Crocodiles is another favorite for our beginners and improving intermediates. Long white water over sand and nice left and right peaks out back. The perfect spot to get your game on.
